Aeroflot's goal of reinventing itself as a premier international airline was finally realized in 2006 when the carrier was accepted as a member of the Sky Team global airline alliance. Aeroflot currently flies nonstop from New York (JFK), Washington Dulles and Los Angeles to its hub at Moscow's Shermetyevo International Airport. The airline's network now spans over 80 destinations in over 40 countries around the world.
